Materials and care
Brushed stainless steel, hypoallergenic and tarnish resistant. Gold and gunmetal are PVD coated. Rinse and dry after dusty nights. An industrial finish, not polished or delicate.
Why chains are priced differently
6mm chains use more steel than 3mm chains, so they cost more. EMBER is priced above the other 3mm chains because the gold oval link is made in much smaller batches. Every chain uses the same clasp, the same rings and the same universal connector.

What earplugs come with it?
Each ARKS ships with a pair of loop style earplugs already attached, in gold, black, clear or white. The connector is universal, so if you already wear a similar loop style earplug you can swap in your own.
Will this protect my hearing?
The earplugs themselves handle the noise reduction. ARKS is the chain that keeps them on your body and in reach, so you actually wear them instead of leaving them in a bag at home.
How do the earplugs attach?
ARKS Drops: a clasp on each strand opens, takes the loop of the earplug, and closes over it. ARKS Sweeps: a magnetic closure for easy on and quick release, with the same universal connector. Nothing adhesive.
Can I buy just the chain, or just the earplugs?
Three ways to buy: the full set, the chain on its own, or the earplugs on their own. Prices vary by chain, and every price is shown on the product page.
What is the difference between ARKS Drops and ARKS Sweeps?
Same chain styles, different closure. ARKS Drops closes with a clasp. ARKS Sweeps closes with a magnet, so it goes on easy and releases quick. Drops comes in all nine chains. Sweeps is available in six.
What is the difference between 3mm and 6mm?
It is the width of the link. 3mm is the finer chain, closer to an everyday necklace. 6mm has real weight to it and reads from across a room. Same clasp, same rings, same universal connector on both.
Why do some chains cost more than others?
Two reasons, and neither is the hardware. 6mm chains use more steel than 3mm chains, so they cost ten dollars more. EMBER sits above the other 3mm chains because the gold oval link is made in much smaller batches than anything else we run. Every chain, at every price, uses the same clasp, the same rings and the same universal connector.
Can I mix a chain with a different earplug colour?
Yes. Any chain, any earplug colour. Pick the combination you want on the product page and we assemble it that way.
What does shipping cost?
$8 flat rate anywhere in the US, 3 to 5 business days, and free on any order over $70. Expedited is $24.95 for USPS Priority, 1 to 2 business days. International is $35. Adding a spare pair of earplugs at $25 is the usual way people cross the free shipping line.
When does it ship?
Every chain is hand-assembled and in stock right now. Standard shipping takes 3 to 5 business days. Need it sooner? Choose expedited at checkout for USPS Priority, 1 to 2 business days.
What if it isn't right, or something breaks?
You have 30 days from delivery. Send the chain back in the condition it arrived and choose a full refund or a replacement, your call. If a clasp, ring or chain fails in normal wear within 6 months, send a photo and we will replace it or refund you, no return needed. Email info@weararks.com
Is Small only for kids?
It is built with kids in mind so they can join in while their hearing stays protected. It also works for anyone who prefers a shorter chain. Small is 18 inches, Medium is 22, Large is 24.
